He could follow in the footsteps of the Spice Girls, Take That, Justin Timberlake and Kanye West appearing at London's former Millennium Dome.
The fallen star is thought to be desperate to solve alleged cash-flow problems with a 2008 tour.
But whether the 49-year-old still has enough of a fanbase to book the arena for more than a couple of nights is sure to be a gamble.
The tour could come in autumn after the release of his new album which he has been working on with producer will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas.
Another big name in the frame for the venue is Whitney Houston.
